Tips for All Skin Types – In Order of Importance

1. Always Cleanse at Night

"If you skip your nighttime cleansing, your skin can’t breathe properly, increasing the risk of breakouts, irritation, and pigmentation."

  • Remove impurities: Dust, fine particles, pollution, sweat, sebum, and leftover sunscreen accumulate on your skin throughout the day.
  • Remove makeup: Leaving makeup or sunscreen on can clog pores and cause breakouts.
  • Support skin regeneration: Skin enters repair mode at night, and cleansing ensures optimal regeneration.
  • Morning cleansing: Not as critical as nighttime, but a light cleanse is recommended in summer or for oily/acne-prone skin.

2. Observe Expiration Dates

  • Especially for skincare, always follow the expiration date on the label.
  • If a product has markings like 12M/6M, note the opening date on the container (you can also calculate and label the expected finish date).
  • Try to finish and discard products a few days or weeks before the expiration date.
  • If the product smells off before the expiration date—especially natural products—discard it immediately.

3. Sunscreen is Essential

  • Spring and summer: Sunscreen is mandatory.
  • Other seasons: If it feels burdensome, skincare products with SPF/UV protection are acceptable.

4. Choose Products Suitable for Your Skin

  • Select products that match your skin type, regardless of price.
  • Natural ingredients are generally preferable, but avoid products that cause allergies or irritation.

5. Normal or Healthy Skin

  • You don’t need to use every skincare product.
  • Hydration is key: Choose at least one moisturizing product to maintain healthy skin.
  • Adequate hydration strengthens the skin barrier and protects against dryness, sensitivity, and early signs of aging.
  • Even normal skin should always include at least one hydration step in the routine.

Night cleansing, sunscreen, and hydration are the top priorities for maintaining healthy skin across all skin types. Expiration dates and product suitability are also important to prevent irritation and maintain skin health.
